You know, except for the 7 years of build quality disparity between the two.

I believe the technical term for a fastback hatch is a liftback.

Who cares, same basic engine, same platform. Also Grand National is a much better flowing read than 1979 Regal Turbo Coupé.

This be true. Though hatchback would still apply for most.

You had this, the Aero Coupe Monte Carlo and the fastback Cutlass Salon. I call them butless Cutlasses
They were incredibly unsuccessful because because people wanted very formal and conseritive cars.

Kind of reminds me of my uncle in the early nineties.

You want one because you've clearly never driven any of the horribility that is malaise-era GM steel.
That's a 175-hp draw-through non-intercooled turbo with only a 200r4 (or maybe a TH250?) behind it... Panel gaps that are more like panel chasms, and weird clunking noises brand new right off the lot...
You can put this next to my cousin's 79 cutlass salon with the 260 v8 and 5-speed that got ~15 mpg while putting out a whopping 105 hp.
No thanks...

A: Mods, bro.
B: Next to no one was able to build a decent car back in that day, except for maybe the Germans and Japanese.
C: Malaisemobiles are my automotive guilty pleasure, so your arguments won't work anyway.

Must be an essential part of being an uncle.
